The (PAAR, IAR, NAR) Association Dues are prorated monthly for the current year and are invoiced in September for the upcoming year. Once the general membership has been invoiced for their association dues, new members would pay the prorated amount for the current year and the entire year that was invoiced to the general membership.

The NAR Public Awareness Assessment is an assessment mandated by the National Association of REALTORS® and assessed to all members to fund a nationwide public awareness campaign that includes TV network and cable ads highlighting the value a Realtor® brings to a transaction and stresses the importance of using a Realtor®.

The IAR Illinois Realtor® Advocacy Initiative is an assessment mandated by the Illinois Association of Realtors® assessed to all members to fund the Advocacy Initiative to provide IAR the resources to give our members and our Governmental Affairs Directors (GAD's) the advocacy tools they need to succeed, and enhance our ability to take our message to the people, policy makers and the media.

MLS Fees are prorated and calculated based on the date you join. Depending on when you apply, quarterly fees for two quarters could be assessed. If you wish to access both the Residential and Commercial MLS information, the fees are $159.00 per license per quarter for the 1st service plus $75 per quarter for the 2nd service. Note: There is a required listing input fee of $25 for agents to input a listing into the second service. (This fee will only be charged if the agent chooses not to join the second service or co-list the property with an agent of the second service.)

The SafeMLS Security System (MLS Token) is a security initiative designed to provide optimum protection for valuable MLS and consumer data. PAAR's reliance on usernames and passwords as the sole form of user authentication is no longer an option. Members share their login information with technology vendors, friends and family and even the consumer. SafeMLS tokens provide the necessary security to protect the MLS data and the consumers personal financial information, while still offering the flexibility and convenience for the truly mobile MLS members.

The RPAC - Realtors® Political Action Committee collects contributions from members and uses those funds to help elect candidates for public office who are supportive of home ownership, private property rights and the real estate industry. Contributions to RPAC are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary, and you may refuse to contribute without affecting your membership rights.

Association Rules & Regulations require attendance at Indoctrination Classes offered by the Association, within 30 days of joining and must be completed in 2 consecutive sessions. When you submit your application and fees you will be automatically scheduled to attend the next scheduled session of Indoctrination Class. Failure to complete this course work within the timetable outlined in the Rules & Regulations will jeopardize your membership status and may result in termination of services.

The Electronic Display Key device is used to gain entry to the electronic keybox which contains the entry key to access a property for sale. Lease fees for the key are paid quarterly and are not prorated. The use tax and activation fee are only paid initially. A training class is also required and is offered during Indoctrination. Training Classes are also offered most Thursdays at 2:00 p.m.

The Electronic Keybox is used to house the entry key for a listed property. Lease fees are $1.00 per month per box and are prorated monthly. Boxes are leased on a 6 month basis.
